Pipeline Database We have just finished a major database project for a construction company. The project consisted of collating data on 125,000 pipes and fittings, 10,000 A3 drawings and over 30,000 supporting documents. All documents and drawings were scanned and stored on CD media, together with the database and custom programmed front-end. The program allowed the client to view any drawing, all the correspondence and calculated all the construction dates and displayed them graphically. The database was used during a successful court case against another contractor to illustrate aspects of the job.
